OUR MISSION
At Lighthouse, our desire is to partner with parents in leading children into a relationship with Jesus. God’s Word can be taught with creativity and relevance in an age appropriate way. We strive to provide a secure, kid-friendly atmosphere that promotes outreach and discipleship, but these gatherings also become a practical place for kids to have fun and make friends.
AGE SPECIFIC INFO
For the safety of our children, we perform a background check on each of our Kid’s Ministry team members. We also have a “check-in” procedure to match children with the appropriate adult during pick up. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to get your kids settled.
If you would like to register your children prior to their first Sunday click the link below. This will speed up your check in process!
Kids, First Grade through Fourth Grade, are given a chance to sing as loud as they want about how great God is, followed by a relevant message with object lessons and games incorporated to help effectively communicate God’s Word. All this takes place in The Chapel, also known as the “Bean Bag Room”. We also have a gymnasium next door for them to burn off all that energy!
Fifth and Sixth Graders have their own room so they can begin the transition from Kid’s Ministry into our main services on Sunday morning, as well as eventually participate in our 6th-12th Grade Student Ministry on Sunday nights. 5th and 6th Graders are still checked in on Sunday mornings, but they are escorted into the Worship Center for the music portion of our services and then escorted back to their room for a lesson and discussion time. We also think this is a great age to encourage your kids to begin serving somewhere in the ministry on Sunday mornings.
Kindergarteners have their own classroom so they can transition from a Pre-K environment to a more organized large group lesson and worship time. Of course they still have plenty of play time and age appropriate activities sprinkled in too!
Each of our PreSchool classrooms (ages 3 and 4) enjoy an environment with age appropriate toys and activities, along with songs and lessons that communicate basic concepts with repetition over several weeks time (“God created you”, “Jesus loves you”, etc.).
Our Toddler classes (ages 1 and 2) enjoy an environment with age appropriate toys, along with songs and lessons that communicate one basic concept with repetition over several months time (“God made the world”, “Jesus loves me”, etc.). We have two 1-year-old rooms and two 2-year-old rooms, broken up into “younger” and “older” for each, so that we can more appropriately meet the developmental needs of each stage.
Infants (ages 4 months to 1-year-old) are cared for in a clean, loving environment with age appropriate toys and surfaces.
A “Mother’s Room” is available for mothers with infants. We’ve provided a comfortable environment with the capability for you to view and listen to the adult service while caring for your infant.
